Who Should You Recruit?

Up until now, recruiting has been a numbers game in most brokerages. Team leaders have been pressured to usher in as many agents as possible, for limited concern about the quality of the recruit.

That is no longer financially feasible.

If you want a brokerage that will be strong enough to withstand the trials that lie ahead, you need to start focusing on the quality of agents that you recruit.

I’m not saying that you should only go after top-producers. Far from it in fact.

Instead, you should focus on designing a profile of your ideal agents. Who are they, what do they value, what motivates them, etc. The agents you recruit need to be in alignment with the overall mission of the brokerage.

Remember, you can always teach and train skills. In fact, that’s your job. However, values, morals, and talent can’t be taught. They either have what they need to empower the team or they don’t. It is as simple as that.

How Should You Recruit Them?

Once you have built a profile of your ideal agent, you get to manipulate the shit out of them.

Say what?!

That’s right; you get to manipulate big time.

You see, you can’t achieve astounding recruitment conversion rates until you know your target on a very intimate level. Once you know who they are, and what makes them tick, you can show them that you are the answer to their prayers.

How?

You show them with content.

Like I always say, anyone can tell you that they’re the best, but few actually prove it. Content in the form of blogs, books, webinars, podcasts, Alexa skills, videos, etc., allow you to show every agent looking for the best broker why you are the best choice.

The way to do that is to make your content all about them.

Create how-to guides based on what they want to achieve.

Create podcasts that address their fears, obstacles, and goals.

Create videos that give them the play-by-play on what’s happening now, and what’s about to affect them in the near future.

The more you make it all about them, the more they will trust you.

If you want to seem like the biggest, badest, rockstar of real estate there ever was, show them what you know and they will come to you.

Did you catch that last part?

I said...let them come to you. That’s exactly what they will fucking do too!

I know, because it is exactly why some of the biggest names in the came come to me before I have ever heard of them. I don’t chase anyone. I don’t do any traditional marketing at all. All I do is create as much content as I can that is in the best interest of the people that I want to attract (my own ideal clients) and put it out there for everyone to see.
