Why Every Real Estate Agent Needs A Podcast
By Nithya_CML

If I told you that radio is about to make a huge comeback, would you think I was bat shit crazy?

Well, my friend, get ready to do that because it’s true.

According to Edison Research, 1 out of every 4 Americans listens to podcasts, as of 2017.

If you don’t currently subscribe to any podcasts, that might surprise you to hear.

It might also surprise you to hear that those stats are about to explode, and I will explain why in a minute.

But before I do, please do me a favor and subscribe to my podcast The Real Estate Revolution for hardball honesty about the future of the real estate industry, interviews with big players, and actionable advice to help you become THE agent in your market.

Now, I am going to show you how you can get ahead of the competition by investing big-time on audio and creating a real estate podcast.

Audio Is About To Become The New Video

Remember when video marketing exploded?

Did you ever wish that you had gotten in on the ground floor of video marketing?

Imagine what that would have meant for your real estate career.

The reason that video marketing and vlogging took off is because people found watching videos to be easier than having to actually read tutorials or blog articles to get the information they were craving.

Essentially, the reason videos were so successful, is because they were a huge time saver.

The one and ONLY currency that any of us have in this life, is time.

You know what is an even bigger time save than watching videos?

Listening to podcasts.

The beauty of podcasts and audiobooks is that you can listen to them while doing a million other things at the same time. You can learn anything and everything you want to know while showering, running, driving, cooking, whatever.

As you already know, you are being pulled in a thousand different directions every day as a real estate agent and you can’t afford to waste time keeping up with technology, marketing, market trends, etc.

You need to be able to stay on-top of everything you need to know to run your business, without wasting a single moment.

Your clients and prospects feel the same way.

Show them that you understand how precious their time is by starting a real estate podcast.

Podcasts Are The Fastest Way To Create Long-Form Content

In terms of SEO and conversion rates, long-form content is the most crucial and valuable element of any real estate content marketing strategy.

Although short-form content has its place, it is really the long-form content that drives real results.

Long form content isn’t just considered to be best by Google, it also further solidifies the perception that you are truly an expert in your real estate market.

The problem is that you don’t have a ton of extra time to be creating long-form real estate content that converts on a regular basis.

The beauty of creating episodes for your real estate podcast, is that you can create long-form content in a fraction of the time it would take you to write a 3,000 word blog post.

Be sure to have a plan of what you’re going to say ahead of time in order to make the process flow as quickly as possible.

To save even more time, hire someone on Fiverr, to do all of your editing and transcribing for you! I’ve used Fiverr for everything from logo design, to my podcast intro/outro, to my signature animation. It saves me tons of time and most of the services are only $5! You can’t beat that.

Podcasts Are Super Easy

Creating a real estate podcast may sound difficult and complicated if you have never done it before.

It’s not.

I had no idea what the hell I was doing when I started mine, but I figured it out. Don’t be afraid of the concept just because you aren’t familiar with it. It’s like I always say, you weren’t born knowing how to ride a bike or drive a car, but you figured it out. This is no different.

The first thing you need to do is go to SoundCloud and set up an account. It’s fast, free, and super easy to do.

It seriously only takes a minute or two to get signed up and ready to start recording.

The free account will allow you a limited amount of content per month, but it’s less than $10 to upgrade, and it’s totally worth it in my opinion if you are planning on creating long form episodes.

Itunes is another great platform, but it will require you to first have your podcast hosted on an independent website of it’s own and then fed into their platform from there, which makes it more complex and more expensive.

Both are great options, it just depends on what makes the most sense for you.

Podcasts Are Awesome For Referrals

One of my favorite benefits about creating blogs, vlogs, and podcasts for your real estate business is that they are very powerful referral tools.

People love to be featured in other business owner’s content!

If you interview small business owners, parents, teachers, authors, politicians, and members of your community for your podcast, you’re going to explode your referral network instantly.

All you have to do is tag the people and the businesses you feature in your podcast and ask them to help you promote it as well by sharing it on there social media.
